About
Erasmus Multicultural Associations (EMA) is the umbrella organisation that represents, facilitates, and coordinates thirteen cultural and social associations, with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusion at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
EMA is a recognised and registered student organisation at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Our Story
The Erasmus Multicultural Associations (EMA) is the umbrella association for all the multicultural associations at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The goal of EMA is to promote diversity and inclusion amongst the student community — to create a multicultural and inclusive environment that is able to learn, share, and experience the differences between individuals.
Our Responsibility
Starting an association is not an easy task; many fail within the first few months. That’s why one of the most important functions of EMA is to offer support and guidance to its members from the administrative side. Any new, as well as existing members of EMA can turn to its board to seek resolutions to their administrative struggles.
01
Administrative Assistance
Reaching out to companies seeking a source of income in a form of a partnership is a crucial part of growing as a cultural association. EMA makes this process easier, reaching out to businesses open for partnership with student groups, and discusses terms of cooperation on behalf of its members. We emphasise the significance of the cultural diversity offered by our member associations following, making it hard for partners to refuse our partnership.
02
Associations' Representative
EMA serves as a spokesperson for the cultural associations in talks with the Erasmus University bodies and vice-versa, it relays information from the university offices to the EMA member associations. We make the communication flow better and smoother, so the cooperation is mutually beneficial.
03
Erasmus’ Middleman
From organising multicultural events to helping associations connect with each other, EMA supports its members as much as possible. We want to share the versatility of culture and the vibrant community of students in their respective associations. Serving as a forum for the community representatives to connect, we facilitate that process and encourage everyone to participate.
